Pinda collects very little. This page says what, why, for how long, and how to ask for it back.
Last updated . This policy covers pinda.kufunga.africa, run by the Kufunga Foundation. It is written for Botswana's Data Protection Act, 2018 and South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), and follows the same principles for visitors from the other markets Pinda serves.
1. What we collect
When you browse, read snippets or follow the course, we collect nothing that identifies you. When you use a form - contributing a snippet or contacting us - we collect what you type: your name, email address, country, and your snippet or message, plus the organisation and role you choose to give. If analytics is switched on, it records pages visited and anonymous device information.
2. Why we collect it
To send you a one-time code that proves the email address is yours, to answer your message, to add your snippet to the library with credit to you, and to understand which parts of Pinda are used so we can improve them.
3. Our legal basis
Your consent when you send a form, and our legitimate interest in running a free education service. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us.
6. How long we keep it
An unconfirmed form entry is held for ten minutes and then discarded. Confirmed entries are kept for [CLIENT FILLS: retention period, for example 24 months], or until you ask us to delete them.
7. Your rights
You may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, object to its use, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to the Information and Data Protection Commission in Botswana or the Information Regulator in South Africa.
8. How to make a request
Write to info@kufunga.africa with the subject "Data request". Our information officer is [CLIENT FILLS: name and role of the information officer], [CLIENT FILLS: registered postal address of the Kufunga Foundation]. We reply within [CLIENT FILLS: response time, for example 30 days].
9. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
